Every company has a starting point. Ours begins not with a business plan, but with a man who simply loved his work.

Harold Kirkham was a heat technician in the truest sense — someone who understood high-heat processes not just as a profession, but as a craft. That dedication left a deep impression on his son, Tony Kirkham, who stepped into the industry in 1961 with HAL Limited, United Kingdom, and later with Hotwork Leyland. Over the decades that followed, Tony earned a standing in the field that no qualification alone could confer — one built through hands-on experience, reliability, and a refusal to cut corners.

In 1996, Tony and Neelima Kirkham made a bold decision: to bring that same standard of expertise to India. HAL India was born — not as a corporate venture, but as a personal conviction. From its earliest days, HAL earned its place in the high-temperature sector through demonstrated capability, not promises.

When I joined HAL in 2020, I inherited something far more valuable than a company — I inherited a way of working. The Kirkham name has meant something specific in this industry for over six decades, and carrying that forward is both a privilege and a responsibility I hold seriously.

2024 marked a significant turning point when HAL became an official member of Hotwork International Group. This milestone has opened new doors — broader resources, deeper technical collaboration, and a stronger global network — while keeping our roots firmly intact. As we move forward, HAL remains what it has always been: a company built on genuine expertise, guided by family values, and driven by a quiet determination to do the job right — every time.
